I’ll be making another appearance on True Life this week in a episode catching up with several subjects from past True Life episodes. The episode will air at 11pm ET on MTV this Thursday. This episode will be updating viewers on what we are up to now since our episode aired. I’ll be sharing the screen with 5 others and it should be a fun experience. My portion was shot entirely in Oxford, OH at Miami University. I hope everyone enjoys it and that I don’t end up looking like a complete dumbass. Ive got my fingers crossed that it looks good.

I’m finally back after a long and tough end to the school year. Projects, exams, papers, presentations, finals and there were many. This was a difficult last four or five weeks, but I came out unscathed with a 3.2 GPA that I can hopefully try and build on again next semester. It should be easier next semester with a consistent 4-day weekend despite taking 16 hours again. I think I’m finally getting a foothold in my schoolwork, circle of friends, and extracurriculars. It only took two years. This year I broke out of my shell a bit and got out more despite the turnover in people I knew. Just about everyone I knew freshmen year left campus this year, but no matter. After visiting most every bar, I’d say The Woods/New Bar is my favorite. At Skippers I became a regular though haha. Mostly at the end of the year for the playoffs I’d be watching every Capitals playoff game there because of the TV channels in the dorms. I’m very grateful for making so many new friends this year through all my experiences. I’m also sad to see many friends go, but I congratulate them on graduation and wish them luck in the future. I’m sure we will all keep in touch. I can’t wait to be an upperclassmen and cause some havoc next year. I’m also looking forward to next hockey season despite the fact the Stanley Cup is still up for grabs. The Redhawks finished the postseason poorly and the Capitals took a couple of years off my life this postseason. Beating the defending champs was admirable, but the Rangers should’ve been toast after game 5. Hopefully the Caps can come back next year with a stronger core and a full year under their belts in this Dale Hunter system. I see a bright Capitals future with a flourishing Holtby, and a young Orlov, Johansson, and Beagle. It was sad enough having to shave the playoff beard today after 14 stressful playoff games and still not getting out of the 2nd round. But this year just deepened my love for my team. Now I’m clean shaven and looking good for what promises to be a great summer. I’m looking forward to live music with Childish Gambino, Chiddy Band and many more, and of course Lollapalooza. As a Lolla veteran this year I’m ready and know how to maximize my experience this year. Oh yeah and happy mothers day to all the mothers out this year. I had a pretty creative gift for my mom today. Now that everyone is getting home for the summer I hope everyone has a great summer.

50/50 (2011): I love this movie. I don’t know about cancer, but it hit my emotions square on the head. Things don’t get better, you just have to make the best with what you’ve got. You’re struggling with your own fight, and the only person that has any idea what you’re going through and how to deal with it is you.
The last couple weeks have been ridiculous and the next couple weeks through finals week are going to be just as bad. I’ve had so many projects, quizzes, and exams that I’ve hardly had time for anything else. Unlike last year, I won’t be covering the entire Stanley Cup playoffs like I did last year. That was just too exhausting and I need to study more. Combined with studying, I’ve also been partying, maybe a little too hard considering I still haven’t recovered from last weekend. My bestfriend’s 21st birthday was last weekend and we celebrated in style. The playoffs have been amazing this year to. Every fucking game has been insane. Don’t even get me started on the Pens/Flyers and Caps/Bruins series. This has probably been my favorite year because everything has been ramped up. I’ve never seen so many fights, hits, overtimes, etc. Now if only my team can prevail for once this year. I’m watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the Hawks/Yotes game while I’m typing this so I’m in ultimate procrastination mode. ‘When life hands you lemons just say fuck the lemons and bail.’ It’s so funny. Anyways time to do some homework, until my next post just wait anxiously at your computer.

Shoot me a message/inbox me and tell me what your favorite artist or songs are. Let me know if there is anything new out there that I should be listening to. I’d love to hear from my followers about really anything. :]

Wow it’s been a while. I’ve been so busy with homework and partying last weekend that I pretty much forgot I had a tumblr. Now I’m refreshed and recovered enough that I can blog again. Last weekend got out of hand to say the least. My brother and three other guys came up on Thursday and had a hell of a time. The clubs were wild for St. Patty’s day weekend and that was only the night time festivities. The NCAA tourny was insane and totally fucked up my brackets. I’ve never seen so many upsets. The Lehigh, Norfolk State, and UNC-Asheville games were ridiculous. As long as IU stays alive though I will be alright. The Hoosiers in a Final Four would be amazing. While all that was going on my room turned into a shitshow as a couple guys couldn’t pace themselves and their day drinking on Saturday. They ended up blacking out early. It was probably still one of the best weekend party/chill groups I’ve had so far though. Shoutout to Cory, Corn, Wes and Taylor for the wild time. The weather was perfect all weekend with it ranging from 70 to 85 degrees. I don’t think you could ask for better weather to transition from Winter to Spring. I took advantage of it and had lots of fun on the warm nights. We went to Stadium Bar, Brick Street Bar, and The Woods/New Bar but nothing topped The Woods. The music was awesome and so were the girls who wore me out. I’m not going to get into the details but it was very memorable. The only downside was feeling like I got hit by a MAC truck the next two days and having to do so much homework. After I finished my exam today though I can just kick back, relax, and enjoy the warm weather the rest of the week.

Well Spring Break is over and that did not last nearly as long as I wanted it to. I had a few days at home hanging out with friends and catching on movies that I had deprived myself of all semester. Chronicle, Goon, Project X, and John Carter were all amazing and I would recommend every single one. I’ve already watched Goon four times and I watched Project X for the second time last night. It’s funny because after watching Project X all you want to do is rage, but you feel like anything less would just be disappointing. I went up to Fond du lac, Wisconsin for a couple days as well to watch my brother Sam’s last games of the season. I really wish he would get a better opportunity to succeed. Hopefully I can work with him more this off-season and we can really land him on a good team with a good coach. I think this week is going to be pretty busy with work, but since it’s my brother Taylor’s Spring Break this week I’ll have some partying to look forward to this weekend. So it’s just back to the grind and getting good grades until May.

Project X was absolutely fucking insane! Thats how you change the game. Still trying to process all of that. That movie went from tame to insane so quickly. The soundtrack was dope to. The awesome part about it is almost all of that could happen. All I wanna do is party now. I caught Goon ondemand to before its in theatres and it is unbelievably awesome. One of the best hockey movies in awhile and I would go as far as to say it is the new Slapshot. Sean William Scott is so fucking awesome as Doug Glatt. It’s not a very good representation of the actual game of hockey, but the locker room antics, trash talk, and all that good stuff is so spot on. Everyone needs to see these two movies ASAP.

Not really a big fan of twitter, but I’ve realized that every artist I like has one. So it’s time I make it easier on myself to follow them. My boys Chiddy Bang were trending today while on ustream and dropping new music so it convinced me. Whatever though I’ll tweet something on occasion.

My old theme wasn’t working and really was frustrating me, but I found something I might like more so here we go. Strange name for a theme but chlamydia works for me. Let me know what you guys think.

It took several weeks but I think I’ve finally started to get back in a groove where I can get work done without extreme procrastination and I am getting back to studying more. I finished my MUS186 project a whole week early and now I can focus on making this MGT111 week and get my company report and studying for my exam done. I wasn’t happy with the amount of studying I allowed myself to do on the last couple tests so I needed to turn it around and focus on improving my work ethic. I think a little more sun and heat outside could help out to. I think all the cold early this semester was affecting me and made me not want to do any work and just put me to the point of exhaustion. Now I just have to get through Spring Break without turning even more lazy.

All you need is a little kitten or puppy companion and you can be occupied for hours. My mom got me a puppy stuffed animal that says little phrases. I was just like “really mom, really?” It’s bad enough you won’t let us because of allergies, but don’t tease me with a stuffed animal. I ain’t really mad though because I know one day I’ll have my own little buddy. This Valentines day has been long enough already though and I’m exhausted so I think I’ll be hitting the hay soon enough.

I’d say not a bad way to spend a Sunday night. I find it a little odd that there are twice as many performances as there are awards announced, but it’s whatever. Live music is good, but not nearly as good through the TV. Especially when you can tell if they’re lip-syncing. I agree with the selections of Adele and Jay-Z & Kanye, but I’m sure I won’t agree with others. The Foo Fighters and Coldplay are going to be the best performances of the night by far. NOBODY can top that. I just love their sound so much. It’s everything that is right about music today. Alright time to get off here and watch.

I’ve certainly had a busy last week and a half. Reconnecting with friends on campus, the Super Bowl, and a big knock on the head Saturday night have kept me occupied. I spontaneously felt like having lunch/dinner with a few people I hadn’t talked to in a while so I set that up and that helped fill my schedule up the rest of the week. It felt pretty good to sit down, have a meal, and catch up with everyone. Unfortunately on Saturday on my way out for the night I cracked my head open after taking a tumble on the bus. I found out head wounds bleed a lot because there was a decent sized puddle on the floor after I got up. Long story short, I had to go to the emergency room and get six staples in my head to patch me up. That resulted in a very painful, short, and not so fun night. Thankfully I didn’t have a concussion, but a pretty big headache. Of course it was Super Bowl weekend and I was pretty glad Eli and the Giants pulled out the big win. We had some good Buffalo Wild Wings and a chill viewing party in the dorm and it ended up being a good end to a turbulent weekend. By far the best Super Bowl commercial was the Kia Optima commercial with Adriana Lima, but the Old Milwaukee commercial viral sensation with Will Ferrell is pretty awesome. I finally saw Moneyball last night and was pretty impressed by it, Brad Pitt, and Jonah Hill. It was definitely the best sports movie I’ve seen in a while. I’m hoping this weekend I can finally catch The Grey. I’m a big Liam Neeson fan and I’ve been itching to see it. On a final note, Breakfast comes out on the 28th and I can’t wait to buy it. Team Swelly all the way.
